SCS SB 393 -- GRATUITOUS DENTAL SERVICES SPONSOR: Sims (Treadway) COMMITTEE ACTION: Voted "do pass" by the Committee on Professional Registration and Licensing by a vote of 12 to 0. Current law allows out-of-state licensed dentists and dental hygienists to provide gratuitous dental services exclusively for summer camps in this state for a period not to exceed 14 days in any one calendar year. This substitute removes the limitation to summer camps. The substitute has an emergency clause. FISCAL NOTE: No impact on state funds. PROPONENTS: Supporters say that currently gratuitous dental services may only be offered at summer camps. The bill expands the statutes allowing these services to be provided by other organizations. Testifying for the bill was Senator Sims. OPPONENTS: There was no opposition voiced to the committee. Bob Dominique, Legislative AnalystCopyright (c) Missouri House of Representatives
